 My name is Katrina, I was born in Poland and I now live in New Orleans with my husband Will and two kids, Stephanie, 16, and Nicholas, 12. Our love for birds started in April of 2004, when we bought our house and the day after the Act of Sale I found a baby bird in the backyard of our new house. We had no idea what kid of bird she was, and had every intention to release her once she learned ow to fly. We found out a month later that we had a European Starling, and that's how our passion for birds started. I named her Malutka, which means "Little" in Polish. She has opened the window to a whole new world for us. I never imagined how intelligent birds can be, and thanks to Malutka, we have opened our home and our hearts to several birds, ten ducks, and then chickens. |
 Will shares my passion and love for birds, ducks and chickens. Together we have taken in and rehabilitated a number of birds, ducks and chickens. We were volunteers for a wildlife sanctuary and have rehabilitated a large number of birds and ducks that have since been released back into the wild. In the past 5 years we have also adopted a number of birds, ducks and chickens that would otherwise not have made it. We have a few handicapped critters and all our special and very spoiled.
In addition to taking care of our birds, Will also works a full time job Monday thru Thursday as a Crew Training Specialist. He writes computer based training programs for ship systems. |
